Today is the 130th anniversary of the killing of Billy the Kid. Billy the Kid, born William Henry McCarty, was a young outlaw known for stealing horses and cattle. He was arrested in December of 1880. He was convicted and sentenced to death. That following April, he escaped from jail by killing two guards. He was hunted down by Sheriff Pat Garrett, who shot and killed him in July 14, 1881.
