January 18, 1911: Eugene B. Ely Lands on the Deck of the USS Pensylvania


Today marks the 100th anniversary of the first time an aircraft lands on a ship. On January 18, 1911, Eugene B. Ely landed his plane on the USS Pennsylvania in San Francisco, California.
