Today marks the 225th birthday of our 12th president, Zachary Taylor. President Taylor served from 1849 to 1850 and was known as “Old Rough and Ready.” He died only 16 months into his presidency. On July 4, 1850, President Taylor fell ill, suffering from severe stomach pains. He would die five days later on July 9, 1850. To learn more, click on these links:
