Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  In honor of this, the Earl K. Long Library has a display on the 2nd floor of the library (pictures below).  We also have several handouts on the 1st and 3rd floors about breast cancer, including treatment options, preventative measures, and emotional effects.  These handouts will also be posted on this blog throughout the month and tweeted periodically (http://twitter.com/feddocs)

Later in the month, on October 19th (6pm), the library will be hosting an event (with the help of Zeta Tau Alpha).  We will have guest speakers from the area Young Breast Cancer Survivor Group.  More details will follow, but the Zetas will actually be promoting this event in front of the library during their bake sale on the 19th.

Again, feel free to stop by the library for information on breast cancer, including how to examine yourself.
