The Manson Family Murders

This past weekend marked the 40th anniversary of the Tate-LaBianca murders committed by members of the Manson Family.

In the early hours of August 9th, 1969, Sharon Tate (26 years old, 8 months pregnant), Jay Sebring (35 years old), Voityct Frokowsky (37 years old), Abigail Folger (26 years old), and Steven Parent (18 years old) were viciously murdered by members of the Manson Family.  The murderers were later identified as Susan Atkins, Charles 'Tex' Watson, and Patricia Krenwinkel.   The murders were committed on Charles Manson's orders.

The next night, in the early hours of August 10th, 1969, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca (44 and 38 years old, respectively) were murdered by Leslie Van Houten, Steve 'Clem' Grogan, Susan Atkins, Charles 'Tex' Watson, and Patricia Krenwinkel, again on orders from Charles Manson.  This time, he accompanied his "family" to the scene.  Linda KAsabian was present for both massacres but claims that she did not participate in the murders.

These events are a horrifying part of American history and should not be forgotten.
