American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan

The House of Representatives has passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, 244-188 (all Republicans and 11 Democrats voted no). It will now go to the Senate. The New York Times has an interesting break down of the votes here.

Digital Transition for Televisions

Yesterday, the Senate unanimously voted to postpone the transition from analog to digital television until June 12, 2009. Next stop, the House. If they pass it, President Obama is expected to sign off on it rather quickly. For more information, check out the article on Federal News Radio.

Welcome

Hi! I'm Sonnet Brown, and I'm the new Federal Documents Librarian at the Earl K. Long Library. This blog seems like the easiest way for me to share important information with the UNO community--and anyone else interested in reading about documents. This blog will have information about new federal documents that we receive, as well as information about displays and events connected to federal documents and the government.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy this blog and find it useful!
